Optimizing Outdoor Opportunities for Kids & Communities

Talking Out
A Voice for Outdoor Places & People

"Talking Outside the Box," or simply Talking Out, is LifeOutdoors' podcast program for outdoor enthusiasts, both past and present, to share their amazing & inspirational outdoor adventures and/or jobs. Stories will run the spectrum from extreme outdoor sports & occupations to simple hobbies and past times.

Talking Out
provides an opportunity for everyone to tell their outdoor stories, but it will not include inappropriate, negative or destructive comments and/or activities. Talking Out provides a nonjudgmental avenue for outdoor enthusiasts to get "insiders" motivated to become passionate "outsiders" themselves.

All interviews will be uploaded on a monthly basis as they are completed by Timberline High School's AP Environmental Science students. Email us at
thstalkingout@gmail.com if you have a story to share about the outdoors or you know someone who does. Tips on how to do a podcast can be downloaded here In time, we will be moving to our own website at www.talkingout.org but for now we will be using this location & at Itunes.

Our most recent interview was with Richard Holme, a Boise author of The Real Story of the Loon Lake Bomber and Points of Prominence: Fire Lookouts of the Payette National Forest. Cody Britson sat down with Holme and discovered the dangers of piloting. You can listen to the podcast here or download it here on iTunes.

Stay tuned for our next podcast with Idaho Statesman outdoor journalist Pete Zimowsky.
